This American Heart Association Basic Life Support class offered by CPR Tampa is the required CPR certification for all nurses, doctors, dentists, paramedics, firefighters, respiratory therapists, radiologists, pharmacists, dental hygienists, physical and occupational therapists, and all other healthcare professionals. This AHA CPR certification is also commonly known as the BLS for Healthcare Providers course. In addition to currently licensed healthcare professionals, the course is required by nursing students, medical students, dental students, and any other healthcare or medical related school program. 

The content of this course includes the AHA recommended protocol of how to provide CPR for adults, children, and infants. It also covers the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to relieve a choking victim. 

As all courses taught by CPR Tampa, we ensure that every students feels welcome in our relaxed and stress-free classroom environment. Our instructors are professionals, mostly nurses and paramedics by trade, and focus on a friendly, helpful, caring teaching approach. 

All instructors are AHA certified to teach ACLS through the American Heart Association. We further train instructors on how to ensure a stress free classroom. Customer service is at the top of our list. This of course includes accurate and clear delivery of course content. We understand how important this training is to saving lives. We follow AHA guidelines throughout the training.

Yes, BLS is CPR. It is a specialized CPR certification course for people who work in healthcare or are going to school to work in the medical or healthcare industry to become a healthcare professional.

Same Day! All American Heart Association cards are now digital. You will receive your digital card by midnight on the day you take your class or skills check.


An in-person BLS Class lasts around 3.5-4 hours. 

The BLS-ACLS Combo class lasts around 8-9 hours.

All of our BLS Classes are listed on the calendar. Simply choose any “BLS CLASS” in BLUE to register.

Yes. The American Heart Association requires that every student has access to the current AHA manual before, during and after class. 

If you didn’t order a book with us, make sure you bring one to class. If you arrive to class without the required manual, you will need to purchase one before class begins in order to participate in the class. Your instructor can assist you with this on the day of class. 

Yes, this BLS course is good for both renewal and 1st time student.

Yes, you can still take the BLS Class. We’re happy to have you.

Yes! It is possible to get all these certifications on the same day with our Blended Online Learning option for BLS, ACLS and PALS. This is where you complete the online portion at home and then visit our training site for the skills session check-off, i.e., the hands-on portion. You will receive all 3 cards on the day of the successful skills session completion. 

If you are looking entirely for in-person classes, and have a current ACLS certification that needs to be renewed, then you can take our ACLS-BLS Combo course on the same day. If you don’t have a current ACLS that’s not expired more than 90 days, then you must take the 1st Time ACLS class. You can also add BLS on the same day.

For PALS, if you are current and not more than 90 days expired, you can take the PALS Renew. If more than 90 days expired, you must take the 1st Time PALS class.

Call us and we will be happy to help you register for these certifications in order to best fit your schedule.

Yes, you can pay on the day of the class. However, we prioritize paid reservation, you can try to go there on the day of the class and see if there is a spot available. If there is, you can attend the class. If the class is full, then you will have to choose a class on another day.

All American Heart Association cards are now digital. If you lose access to your card, there is a $20 recovery cost for each occurrence. However, if you purchased Card Insurance, recovering access to your card is FREE for 2 full years. To request a replacement card simply email us.

The American Heart Association no longer provides physical cards. All cards are in digital format that you can access and print.

Once you have accessed your card through the AHA’s website, you will have the option to download and print the eCard, which is in PDF format.
